Designer Studio
In the v11.0 release, admins will be able to initiate InDesign template creation from the template listing page.
In the template creation, they can export the IDML file from the InDesign tool and then directly import the file into the admin panel.
To import your IDML file, from the Template Listing page click on the "Create From InDesign" button from the top-right corner:
This will redirect to the Add Template screen, where the admin can create a template similar to a standard template and then click on the Save and Continue button.
On the next page, the admin will land on a new tab named "Edit Design" for importing the design and asset files:
Using the "Upload InDesign File", the admin can upload their idml design file exported from the InDesign Tool.
As soon as the idml file is uploaded, other options to upload font and image files will appear:
The asset files can be uploaded at once in a zip folder using the "Upload InDesign Assets File" button or it can be uploaded separately from the respective sections.
After uploading all the required files, when you save and continue, you will be redirected to the Designer Studio to verify and modify the design.
If everything is good to go, you can save the design and that's it!
To make any small changes in the PDF Block Templates, the admin had first to update the block PDF in Adobe Acrobat and then re-upload the updated PDF in the OPS admin panel template.
To optimize and make this lengthy process hassle-free and time-saving, we will be providing an interface in the Manage Properties screen through which the block modifications can be performed within the OPS admin panel for properties such as Position (Rect), Font, Object Fitting, Color, and Spacing–Formatting:
Admins can now provide QR codes within the templates for personalization along with the other business personalization fields.
For this, QR Code properties has been added for the Image Blocks:
To allow your customers to generate QR codes, you need to create a property for image blocks and associate it with the related text blocks.
When you select the QR Code in the property tab, you will have another field to select the type of QR code you want to create and further you need to associate the code type with one of the related text blocks:
Save the details and update the preview of the template.
In the Designer Studio, when the customers input any text for product, company, or other details, it will be automatically converted to a QR code based on the admin configuration. In the below example, it is the website block:
To save time in duplicating layouts individually, we brought the option to duplicate the page layouts in bulk similar to product templates.
The admin can now duplicate the page layouts for Photobook, Calendar, and Canvas products using the ‘Page Layout’ checkout option is added to the Add Duplicate Templates, Remove Duplicate Templates as well as Duplicate Templates with Resize screens:
You can now add a help message for individual blocks in the PDF Block Templates to help your customers add value to those blocks.
From the Manage Properties screen, click on the Add button. On the next page, from the Custom Properties tab, click on the Property drop down where you will find "Help" property.
Select Help and then add the message for the customers. Save all the details. In the designer studio, help icon with message will appear against the respective blocks:
When you have set the upload center proofing to ‘Designer Studio’ and upload the files from the upload center page, the system will redirect the customers to the designer studio for design proofing, and as per the latest enhancement, the customers will be able to see the dimensions of the artwork placed on the canvas:
The system will now display the job name as soon the custom customizes a design and clicks on Continue button.
The customers can choose to keep or change the job name as per their preference.
