Color Settings
In printing industry, the color representation matters the most along with other significant things. However, from this tab, the admin can first define the color palette being used for all the products.
As, it is really important to ensure that the color representation looks the same across all devices like computers screens and printed paper, this tab offers to configure and manage Grey colors, Pantone colors along with mapping the RGB and CMYK color models.
This feature allows you to configure and add your color palette that will be displayed on Studio. You can define major 4 types of color palettes namely:
- RGB
- CMYK
- Advance RGB
- Advance CMYK
You can add your own color palette from the Admin >> Designer Studio >> Studio Settings >> Studio Settings >> Color Settings and clicking on the Add button.
- Enter the title for the new color palette, select the color palette type and then select the number of colors you wish to add in the new palette.
- You also need to select the open mode of the new color palette as Normal or Advanced:
- Normal - This mode will display your color palette normally as Square boxes for specific color where end-user can choose from the given colors only.
- Advanced - This mode will display with the advance mode from where end-user can select the colors to form the color picker as well as define the codes for the color.
- Now, select the display style. This option will help you to define your color palette display size at the front store. This option will be appearing only for “Normal Default Open Mode” there are two types of display mode as mentioned below:
- Normal - In this option in the palette 19 colors will be displayed per row in the front store.
- Small - In this option in the palette 10 colors will be displayed per row in the front store. If small option is enabled, then the size of the color palette will be reduced on front store.
- Select to enable the color picker and display the used colors in the new palette.
- Save the details.
Gray colors are tint of black shade or white. They result in from mixing of two complementary colors and in RGB model any color with roughly equal parts of red, green and blue appear as gray.
By default, we have added about 100 gray colors into the system from Gray Color Value 0 to 1. According to your printer specification, you can add more gray colors to the palette by clicking on the Gray Color Setting button from Color Setting page.
To add more gray colors, you need to add the value from 0 to 1, enter the HEX color code for the Gray color (to display in the color picker) and then Save. These colors will be saved under the client colors tab.
These are the colors specified in the Pantone Matching machine. This is a proprietary, standardized color system used across many industries especially in the print industry. The Pantone system is the standard language for color communication from designer to manufacturer to default store to customer. The Pantone system is now largely accepted and relied upon by printers, manufacturers, marketers, artists, designers, and others.
There are 1,114 colors, each assigned with a number and name. By using the Pantone system, people in different locations can refer to the same color by knowing only the number that identifies it. This helps manufacturers and others to avoid mistakes like color deviation between the design and the finished product.
Add a Pantone Color
By default, we have added 900+ Pantone colors in our system. Also, Admin gets the option to add their own Pantone color. To add the same, click on the Pantone Color Setting button from Color Setting tab of Designer Studio:
Enter the Pantone color name and HEX color code for the Pantone color. Next, enter the tint color value, and give a CMYK or RGB value.
After this click on the Save button and this color will be recorded in the Client Color tab.
Instead of updating the colors of color palette individually you can import the changes or even the color palette. To import the color palette, go to the Admin >> Designer Studio >> Studio Settings >> Color Settings >> Import Color Palette button
Here, chose from existing color palette, and download the file.
- Fill the data in the provided format.
- Verify that you have filled the required fields given in the format.
- Select the import type.
- Upload the file in the system.
- Verify the data and Save.
- The added colors will be displayed as per the upload type selected.
Many graphics software programs give you the choice to work in either RGB or CMYK. These are called "color spaces". Scanners and digital cameras create images using combinations of just three colors: Red, Green, and Blue (called "RGB"). These are the primary colors of light, which computers use to display images on your screen. Printing presses print full-color pictures using a different set of colors, the primary colors of pigment: Cyan (blue), Magenta (red), Yellow and Black (called "CMYK"). This is "4-color process" or "full-color" printing that comprises the majority of magazines and marketing materials you see every day.
When creating a map that will be displayed on a computer monitor the RGB color model is generally better to use. When creating a printed map it is generally better to use the CMYK color model. One problem that printers deal with is the conversion between the RGB images displayed on their screen and the outputted CMYK images being printed out.
For such mapping we have provided this RGB-CMYK Mapping section where you can define the RGB value and associate a CMYK color value with it as per your printer’s specification.
