includes both admin side configuration options and storefront functionality for customers purpose the main purpose of this enhancement is to ensure that customer consent preferences are properly respected across the storefront previously, tracking tools such as analytics and marketing cookies could continue running even when customers rejected cookies with this enhancement, all non essential cookies remain blocked until customers explicitly allow them the system also stores customer preferences securely so their choices continue to apply during future visits how the cookie consent system works when a customer visits the storefront for the first time, the system checks whether a cookie consent preference already exists if no consent is available, a cookie banner appears on the screen until the customer makes a choice, all non essential tracking cookies remain blocked the customer can then choose one of the following options accept all cookies allows all cookie categories reject all cookies rejects all non essential cookies manage preferences saves the customer’s selected preferences once the customer makes a selection, the system stores the preference and automatically applies it across the storefront on future visits, the saved preference is automatically reused, and the cookie banner will not appear again unless the consent expires or is reset admin side configuration a new section called cookie preferences is available under site settings inside this section, administrators can configure and manage the cookie consent banner for the storefront the existing cookie consent settings will be replaced with this new configuration system cookie banner general settings this section allows administrators to control the visibility, behaviour, and storefront availability of the cookie consent banner enable or disable cookie banner administrators can decide whether the cookie consent banner should appear on the storefront when enabled, customers will see the cookie banner based on the configured settings when disabled, the banner will not appear load cookies without consent this setting controls how cookies behave before customer consent is provided if the setting is enabled, non essential cookies such as analytics and marketing cookies will only load after the customer accepts them if the setting is disabled, cookies will continue loading automatically when the page opens, which matches the current system behaviour by default, this option is disabled store availability options administrators can choose where the cookie banner should appear the available options are all stores the banner will appear on both b2c and b2b storefronts all public stores the banner will appear only on public b2c storefronts and will not appear on b2b storefronts consent modal the consent modal is the first cookie banner displayed to customers when they visit the storefront for the first time its purpose is to inform users about cookie usage and allow them to quickly accept, reject, or manage cookie preferences administrators can customize the appearance and behaviour of the consent modal according to their storefront design and privacy requirements layout the system provides multiple layout options such as box, box inline, box wide, cloud, cloud inline, bar, and bar inline these layouts help businesses choose how the cookie banner should visually appear on the storefront position administrators can also configure the position of the consent modal on the screen depending on the selected layout, the banner can appear at the top, middle, or bottom of the page bar layouts are displayed as full width banners either at the top or bottom of the screen flip buttons allows reversing the order of action buttons equal weight buttons makes all action buttons appear with equal visual importance the consent modal ensures that customers can clearly understand cookie usage and make an informed decision before non essential cookies are activated preference modal the preference modal allows customers to manage cookie permissions in a more detailed and category based manner when customers click the manage preferences button from the consent banner, the preference modal opens and displays available cookie categories along with their descriptions administrators can configure the preference modal layout and positioning based on their storefront requirements layout the available layout options include box, bar, and bar wide position for bar and bar wide layouts, administrators can choose whether the preference modal should appear from the left or right side of the screen the preference modal also supports the flip buttons and equal weight buttons functionalities customers can use this modal to enable or disable optional cookie categories review cookie descriptions save their preferences accept or reject all cookies note necessary cookies always remain active because they are required for the website to function properly themes the cookie consent system allows administrators to choose different visual themes for the cookie banner and preference modal themes help ensure that the cookie consent interface
