as soon as the customer lands on the product page, the quantity field will automatically display 20 using the increase and decrease buttons if the customer clicks the increase (+) button, the quantity changes from 20 → 30 → 40 → 50, and so on if the customer clicks the decrease (–) button, the quantity changes from 20 → 10 → 0 (depending on minimum quantity settings) the quantity always increases or decreases in multiples of 10 , as defined after the pipe separator manual quantity entry if the customer manually enters 30 → accepted (multiple of 10) 50 → accepted (multiple of 10) 25 → error displayed (not a multiple of 10) 37 → error displayed (not a multiple of 10) if the entered quantity does not follow the defined interval rule, the system will display an error message prompting the customer to enter a valid quantity restrict customers to order quantity this setting allows you to limit the quantity that customers can enter and order for a specific product within a defined range once enabled, customers will only be able to place an order if the entered quantity falls within the allowed minimum and maximum limits configured for the product example if the allowed range is set from 100 to 1000 , customers can order 100, 250, 500, or 1000 cannot order 75 (below minimum) cannot order 1100 (above maximum) if the entered quantity is outside the permitted range, the system will display an error message and prevent checkout until a valid quantity is entered this helps maintain production feasibility and pricing control restrict customer to order within the defined area and quantity this setting prevents customers from placing orders outside the permitted size (area) and quantity range defined for the product when enabled, the system validates both parameters before allowing the order to proceed note this setting is only available to the custom/dynamic size products how it works customers cannot enter a quantity that is below the minimum or above the maximum limit configured for the product for custom sized products , the system also validates the entered dimensions (such as width and height) to ensure they fall within the allowed area range example – quantity restriction if the allowed quantity range is 10 to 500 entering 25 → accepted entering 5 → error displayed entering 600 → error displayed example – custom size (area) restriction if a banner product allows minimum size 2 sq ft maximum size 50 sq ft and the customer enters dimensions that calculate to 10 sq ft → accepted 1 sq ft → error displayed 75 sq ft → error displayed the system ensures that both area and quantity remain within the predefined limits before proceeding to pricing and checkout this helps maintain production feasibility, pricing accuracy, and operational control for custom sized products multiple quantity input this setting is primarily used for products like t shirts , where customers may want to order different quantities for different sizes in a single order to configure this create additional options for each size (for example, small, medium, large, xl) select the textbox type for each size option enable the multiply with quantity weight setting for these options enable the multiple quantity input setting in the product configuration how does it appear on the storefront? once this setting is configured customers will see separate textbox input fields for each size they can enter different quantities for each size (for example, small – 10, medium – 15, large – 5) the system will automatically calculate and display the total quantity in the subtotal section example if the customer enters small – 10 medium – 15 large – 5 the total quantity displayed will be 30 , and pricing will be calculated accordingly this setup makes it easier to manage products that require size wise or variant wise quantity distribution within a single order restrict quantity per cart enable this setting to limit the number of units a customer can purchase for a specific product within a single order (cart) when this restriction is applied, customers will not be able to add quantities beyond the defined limit in one checkout session enter quantity to restrict per cart item once restrict quantity per cart is enabled, this field becomes available here, you must define the maximum quantity allowed per cart example if you enter 5 , the customer can only purchase up to 5 units of that product in a single order if they attempt to add 6 or more, the system will display an error message and prevent checkout this is useful for limited stock products promotional items sample products with capped purchase limits restrict order quantity per customer this setting limits the total quantity a single customer can purchase , regardless of how many separate orders they place unlike per cart restriction, this control applies at the customer level restrict time duration of orders when you enable restrict order quantity per customer , this additional field appears to define the duration for the restriction for example, if you set enter quantity to restrict per customer 20 you must then define the applicable duration, such as yearly (customer can purchase up to 20 units per year) monthly (customer can purchase up to 20 units per month) custom date range lifetime limit (customer can only purchase 20 units in total from the website) example scenario if the limit is set to 20 per year , and a customer has already purchased 18 units, they will only be allowed to purchase 2 more units within that year this setting is ideal for membership based product limits government or institutional supply caps exclusive or limited edition products by combining cart level and customer level restrictions, you can effectively control product distribution and prevent over purchasing
